I’m trying to email a bunch of PDFs, like 15 scanned receipts plus a contract, and I’m not sure if there’s an actual limit on attachments or if it’s just the total file size that matters. My last attempt bounced back, so what’s the deal here?
Honestly, it is almost always the total file size rather than the number of files. Most email providers cap attachments at 25MB, and scans get huge fast. Id just check the combined size or zip them up before sending.
It is usually the total message size, not the number of PDFs, that causes trouble. Gmail allows about 25 MB, but attachments gain roughly 33% through email encoding, and the recipient’s limit may be lower.
I would check the bounce message, then either send a couple of smaller batches or put the PDFs in a ZIP file or shared cloud folder and email the link.
