I’ve got a stack of about 30 receipts I need to digitize for my expense report, due tomorrow morning. My office scanner dumps everything into one giant file, but I need each page saved as its own PDF so I can attach them separately. I’m on a Windows work PC and can’t install anything new, so I’m stuck.
Check your scanner settings first honestly, most have a checkbox to save pages as seperate files before scanning. If you already scanned them, just open the PDF in Edge or Chrome and use Print to PDF for single pages.
I do what @clumsy_goblin suggested with Print to PDF now whenever clients send me a combined file. I learned the hard way that doing it in the browser is way faster than messing with clunky scanner software.
Yeah that’s annoying, especially under a deadline. If you have Microsoft Print to PDF and your scan app lets you print selected pages, you could open the big PDF in a viewer that shows thumbnails, select one page at a time, and print just that page to a new file. Keep the original multi page scan as a backup before you start splitting it up.
