I have to read massive 800-page textbooks for my classes this semester, but my default browser keeps freezing whenever I try to highlight notes. What PDF program works best for smooth, heavy annotation?

Honestly, browsers always choke on files that big. The simplest fix is using a dedicated desktop reader instead of a browser. Try PDF-XChange Editor or Foxit, they handle massive documents way better without freezing up on heavy highlights.
