# Can I edit scanned PDF online free without installing anything?

I have a 12-page scanned PDF and need to correct a couple of words, but I can’t install anything on this computer. Can I edit it online for free?

Honestly, if it’s just a couple words, the easiest fix is using something like Sejda online to just whiteout the mistake and type over it. Scanned docs are basically images anyway, so full text editing usually messes up the formating.

Yes, but a scanned PDF is usually just images, so the editor needs OCR before the words can be changed. I would try an online OCR PDF editor, correct the text, then export a new PDF; check the result carefully, since OCR can alter numbers and formatting. For invoices, avoid uploading anything confidential unless the service is acceptable for that use.
