# As a student, how to generate mind maps from pdf files easily?

I’m a second-year student and have a 30-page lecture PDF on cognitive psychology due for a seminar on Friday. Reading it linearly is killing me, so I’d love to turn the key concepts into a visual map, but copying everything by hand takes forever. Is there a quick way to get a mind map out of a PDF on my laptop?

Honestly, the simplest thing to check first is an auto-tool like GitMind or Mapify. You just upload the pdf and it pulls out the main branches for you in a few seonds. Way faster than building it manually.

tbh I learned the hard way that long PDFs like medical forms are a slog to read straight through. I’m not sure about lectures but I would try copying the main headings into a mind map app and branching from there. What kind of laptop are you using?
